Call to Order
Mayor Derek Norton called to order the August 14, 2024 Special Called Meeting of the Mayor
and Council — Service Delivery Strategy held at A. Max Bacon City Hall in Council Chambers at
8:04 AM.
Invocation and Pledge of Allegiance
Councilmember Rickey N. Oglesby, Jr. led the meeting with an invocation and led the Pledge of
Allegiance.

Formal Business
A. AGR2024-039 Approval of the agreement with Cobb County regarding service delivery
strategy.
Joe Bennett, City Administrator, provided the following background:
The City of Smyrna, along with the cities of Kennesaw, Acworth, Powder Springs, Austell,
and Marietta began conversations with Cobb County in anticipation of the Service Delivery
Strategy renewal deadline of October 2024.
