Mr. Mit Williams of Quarles Ave. requested information on sewerage for Quarles
Ave. and Wills St,
R, H. Wood repo.rted.that the Engineer gffice was working on the relocation
the pumping station in Chaney Wood which had been condemned by State Health
Dept.
Minutes of July meetings read.
Motion R. II. Wood seconed J. G. White to accept minutes as read.
The fourteenth (14),recommendation of the Grand Jury were gone into at this time.
Motion J. E. Johnson seconed R. H. Wood that a semi-annual audit be set up, with
bids to be obtained from at least 3 firms for performing this work with the
audit-, to be made as of July 31, 1957 and Dec. 31, 1957 and there after on a
semi-annual basis. Voted unanimous.
Mayor Quarles read letter from Willingham and. Belcher on the Audit. Mayor Quarles
requested tha the auditors make recommendation on ways cf improving the City HaU.

Motion J. E. Johnson seconed R. H. Wood that Mr. White and Sonnenberg remain on
Council.
Voting for- Wood. and Johnson
Against- Brenner
Obstaining- Westrbooks and'Unite
Potion J. E. Johnson seconed Brenner that A. V. Bolton'Contract (in view of the
Grand Jury recommendation)be terminated at the end of his present work and then
if the city decid:s to contract out more construction work for Mr. Bolton to be
allowed. to bid.
Motion Johnson seconed Brenner,.that in view of the feeling brought ott that
he would like to with draw his motion.
Motion Brenner seconed Wood that a performance bond be required in the future on
all contracts. voted unaniumous.
Motion Johnson seconed Wood that Kenneth Pressley be retained on City Payroll
as evidence had not been submitted for him to go along with.Grand Jury recommen-
dations.
Voting for- Wood, Johnson and White
Against- Brenner
Obstaining- Westbrooks
Motion Wood seconed Johnson that an openion be requested of City Attorney or
the ownership of the Heavy Equipment now in possession of A. V. Bolton- r
Motion cak!�ried with Westbrooks Obstaining.
Mayor Quarles stated that Council would go on record as to looking into the
matter of a male City Clerk.
Motion Westbrooks seconed Johnson that a resolution be adopted that any property
for sale would be advertised. Voted unanimous.
Motion Johnson seconed Wood. that Murray Sonnenberg, J. G. Wood and the entire
Council be censored. for their laxness and it shall be their duty and charged
with the responsibility to see that no acts of this nature happen again.

Obstaining: White and Westbrooks

Motion Westbrooks seconed Brenner that a nine total water billing machine and
a valadating .achine be purchased from the low bidden Burroughs Corp. on a
monthly rental bases with a credit of $150.00 to be allowed for the old machine.
Mayor to be authorized to sign contract. Cost of billing Machine $3,483.75
and valadating machine $667.74. Voted uananimous.
