Petition presented requesting curb and gutter on Powder Springs Street
from Birch Street to Eastfield Road.
Mr. Sam Lewis, Highland Avenue, requested sewerage.
Motion, R. H. Wood, seconded D. M. Scarborough that the property located
onnthe north side of Cobb Farm Road and adjoining existing city limits
of City of Smyrna, be, an application of A. V. Bolton, accepted into
City of Smyrna.
An ordinance was introduced by Councilman A. V. Bolton, seconded by
Councilman R. H. Wood that Powder Springs Street between Birch Street and
Eastf ield Road be improved by the construction on each side with a concrete
curb and gutter; Copy of said ordinance attached to these minutes and
made a part •thereof .

authorized to sell and erect 4 x 8 feet plywood signs on temporpwy fence
at Ward Park with type of advertising to be controlled by Parks

recommends that the speed limit on that portion of South Cobb Drive;
within the city limits be set to comply with the state laws 60 m.p.h.
daytime and 50 m.p.h. at night and the school zone to be 20 m.p.h. during
school hours; that the speed limit at the gntersection of South Cobb
Drive and Concord Road (500 feet weachetayIdb4 set at 30 m.p.h.

at the June 4th, 1956 meeting authorizex?g the paving of Corn Road from

at the June 4th, 1956 meeting authorizing the paving of Fuller Street
be held in obeyance until next Council meeting. For the Street

and gutter of Dell Avenue from Evelyn Street to McLinden Avenue, be

ion on each side with a concrete curb and gutter and resurfacing. Copy of
said ordinance attached to these minutes and made a part thereof.

July lo, 1956 at the First Baptist Church, to organize the Clinton Reed
Health Center being backed by the Young Matroris' League of Smyrna, re-
questing that the city furnish site, building and facilities.
Mayor referred to Parks and Building Committee for immediate action the
site and temporary building for Health Center.
Motion A. V. Bolton, seconded N. E. Brenner that the City Council go on
record as approving the action taken'by'the Young Matrons' League.
Mr. •Lou •Schreibman, Director of Civil Defense requested Council to go
record -as approving the Auxilaryy Police as reorganized. Auxiliar Police
referred to Police Committee s9heduled to meet July'10,'19569 at p.m.
