CC A lengthly discussion between the Council and Police Dept., was �, eld as to ways and means of improving the department to give the bes'`t service to the citizens of Smyrna. Motion by C. Co Terrell seconded by Harry Mitchell to resind motion at act. 6, 1952 meeting pertaining to amendment added to rules and regulations governing electrical wiring as adopt- ed Feb. 1951,'said°amendment to read; An electrical permit shall be issued to cover only one desig- nated job. Each permit shall apply to only one building. Any issuance of electrical permits shall be made only to a licensed electrical contractor, or any person or individual doing work in his own home; that person or individual to be approved by the electrical board. Voted unanimous. Motion by C. C. Terrell ,seconded by Harry Mitchell to raise the salary of the assistant clerk from $36.00 to $40.00 per week, effective this date`. Voted unanimous. Motion by C. C. Terrell seconded by Harry Mitchell to install pump now at spring (if adequate) at septic tank in Bennett pro- ject; if not suitable'to purchase and install lift pump. Voted unanimous. Gibson presiding with the following Councilmen present; C. C. Terrell, Eugene Rice, C. M. Hamby, and Glenn Yarbrough. City Attorney, Harold Willing- ham present. Purpose of meeting to adopt ordinance for issuing Waterworks and Sewerage Revenue Certificates. Motion by C. M. Hamby seconded by C. C. Terrell instruction City Attorney to include in ordinance that units where multiple f amilie-s, are served by one water meter; each unit will pay a minimum water bill each months, 'als'bsrhinimum•-,service charge $1.50 per month when water meter is connected and water not on; Olf.= charge for turn- ing water on and all.charges and bills to be paid before water to be turned back on, effective November 1, 1952. Voted unanimous. Motion by C. M. Hamby seconded by G. R. Yarbrough too adopt ord- inance for issuing Waterworks & Sewerage Revenue Certificates. Ordinance attached to these minutes and made a part thereof. Voted unanimous. Mayor instructed to have prepared and signed an easement with- L. E. Williams for water meter to be located on Little Concord Rd...' Motion by° C. M. Hamby seconded by Attorney to investigate evidence state laws have been violated by to Council. Voted unanimous.
