PM. Mayor Protem H.L. McEntyre presiding with the following
Councilmen present: G.R.Yarbrough, John Collier, and N.E.
Brenner, V.R.-Siddall arriving late.
Councilman Yarbrough read the qualifications of a building
inspector from the National Code Book, after which a discussion
was held.
Motion by G.R. Yarbrough, seconded by N.E. Brenner that effect-
ive October 1,1954 the City retain 25f of all building permits
issued. Voting unanimous.
Motion by N.E. Brenner, seconded by John Collier that the ]letter
of Mrs. Frances Embry of Church Street be turned over to Street
Committee with authority toast. Voting unanimous.
Motion by G.R. Yarbrough seconded by John Collier,"Move that
the City purchase thru Civil Defence office 600 feet 2J inch
double jacket fire hose at 40 cents per ft. Voting unanimous.
Councilman Siddall retired.
Motion by Councilman Brenner, seconded by Councilman Collier
to turn over to the Fire Committee the needs of the Fire Dept.
as requested on Chief John Thomas ,report of Sept. 1, 1954 T,rith
authority to act. Vot3:Pig--t�mous.
Motion by Councilman Brenner seconded by Councilman Yarbrough
that the water bill of F.E. brans and B.T. Moser be turned
aver to the water Committee with authority to- act, Voting
unanimous.
Motion by Councilman Yarbrough seconded by Councilman Brenner
that the property described in Bennett Realty Corp.. Sept.
99 1954 letter be incorporated in City limits of Smyrna and this
letter made a part of and attached to these minutes. Voting
for --Yarbrough, Brenner and Siddall, Voting Against, Collier.
Motion Carried.
Motion Councilman Yarbrough to adjourn, seconded by Brenner,
