Continuation of regular meeting August 9, 1954 8::P.M. Mayor Pro-
tem H.L. McEntyre presiding with the following Councilman present,
G.R. Yarbrough, N.E. Brenner, and V.R. Siddall, John Collier
arriving late.
Mr. B.T. Moser of 473 Valley Drive requested that some explandtion
be given to his water consumption for July of 28,0.00 gal;
Mayor Pro-Tem McEnt,,yyre proposed that the water bill of Mr. Moser
be held in abc_i&i-'*fill neat reading and see what the reading is at
that time.

of Mr. Moser be referred to water and Sewerage Committee for..study
and tp be referred back to council. Voting Unanimous..
G.W. Davis and A.T. Lee came befdreticouncih requesting the paving
of Stephens Street. Referred to Street and Sidewalk Committee.
Mr. Rensie of the Royal.Sandwich Company protested that his fine
for doing -business without license in Smyrna was un just.
Judge'John Kelly requested that the Council take into consideration
Mr. Rensie's Appeal.
Motion by N..E. Brenner, seconded byt,,V.R. Siddall that the fine
impos'sed by the judge be up held in the case of Mr. Rensie.
Voting unanimous;.
Motion by G.R. Yarbrough, seconded by N.E. Brenner that Belmont
Hills Shopping Center be furnished sewerage at a cost of_$3,500.00
with credit to be given at $150.00 per unit for'all services rendered
from that trunk line not to exceed the total of $3,500.,00 Voting
unanimous.
Councilman John Collier Arrived.
Motion by G.R. Yarbrough, seconded btr N.E. Brenner.that.we extend
sewerage in Franklin Heights a distance not to exceedo4.,..200 ft.
in Clifton Rd. Voting unanimous. OQ
Councilman N.E. Brenner was requested to check with former Mayor
Gibson about agreement with Mrs.. Still of 330 Step hens St.
Mr. Bill Ward of Belmont Hills Co. offered to the city for development
42 acres on South side Cherokee rd. Councilman Collier was requested
to talk. further with Mr. Ward and extend the Citys appreciation.P ,.evk�
Verbal request received to zone the east bide of S'. Atlanta St.
South to Beshers property.
Councilman Collier was requested to contact Mr. Lex .Tolley about the
additional water certificates the city was contemplatlrigip: selling.
Motion by V.R. Siddall, seconded by N.E. Brenner that the sewer tap
fee of $75.00 for Marston, Stephens, Hawthorne, Church, be adapted
tb the 1st of November 1954 and from that date on the sewer tap fee
be the regular $1.50.00 fee all over the city. Voting.unanimous,.
Motion by G.R. Yarbrough seconded by N.E. Brenner that the City
.Attorney be authorized to draw up ordinance conc_ming outdoor
` pc vies and condeming septic tanks where sewerage is available.
Effective January 1, 1955. Voting unanimous,.
Motion by G.R. Yarbrough,. -seconded by V.R. Siddall that Southern
Manor Apt.. (Reed Apt.),. be billed for Sewer tap fee at $75.00 per
each single family unit p rovided this amount is paid by Nov. 1, 1954
and there after $150.00 per unit.. Voting unanimous.

A'.ppecial.meeting.of the mayor and council was held at the City
Hall Sept. 4, 1954 at 4: P.M. Mayor Protem H.L. McEntyre presiding
witli' the following Councilmen present, V.R. Siddall, N.E. Brenner,
John Collier, and G.R.'Yarbrough.
Purpose of meeting to discuss. purchase of lowboy and. tractor of J.E.V _
L vern.
Motion by V..R. Siddall, seconded by G.R. Yarbrough that the City
purchase the International 46 tractor and KRll lowboy for $3,000.
Voting unanimous.
Motion by G.R. Yarbrough, seconded by V.R. Siddall that the Finance
Committee be authorized to finance the tractor traylor.
