06-15-1953 Special MeetingA special Meeting of the Mayor and Council was held at the City Hall
June 15, 1953 at 7:45 P.M. Mayor G.N. Duncan presiding at the Meeting
with all Councilmen 'present.
Motion by Harry Mitchell, seconded by John Collier to issue license
for $12.50 to Pony Photo. Voting unanimous.
Mayor Duncan ask"all Dept. Heads and Employees present to submit
any plan they might have on how the City might cut expentures.
Motion C.M. Hamby seconded by G.R. Yarbrough effective 1st July to -
abolish the 'position held by H.P. McCollum, Supt. ,of City at $400.00
per month and position of Homer Prather at 250.00 per"month.
Voting for-- Yarbrough, McEntyre and Hamby.
Voting Against-- Mitchell and Collier
Motion by Harry Mitchell, seconded by John Collier that the fiB
Councilmen get together and.study this closely and see if some
substitution could be made and everbody happy over the deal.
