10-15-1951 Special MeetingM A special meeting -of the Mayor and Council was held at the Cit7 Hall, October 15, 1951, 7:30 P. M., with the following present; Mayor J. M. Gibson,'Councilmen Howard Hames, C. W. Jones, Stanley McCalla, H. L. McEntyre and John Collier. Assistant City Engineer, Ralph Lewis, Jr. present. _ Purpose of the meeting was a discussion'on repairing old water tank ana'building new storage tank. It was decided to investigate old contract on water tank, which was repaired five (5) years ago, be- fore taking new'bids on repairing tank now. Decided to wait a little while on discussing building new tank as the old tank was in"such a condition it should be attended to now. It was pro- posed .that the City buy the J. B. Stamper property, which ajoiris the City property on Spring St., if it was agreeable with''the Councilmen after they have investigated and seen the property. WIN G NOTICE OF INTRODUCTION AND PENDENCY OF ORDINANCE BEFORE THE MAYOR AND COU14CIL OF THE CITY OF SMYRNA AUTHORIZING THE PAVING OF HICKORY HILL DRIVE IN SAID CITY GEORGIA, COBB COUNTY: TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: Notice is hereby given: J 1. That at a regular meeting of the Mayor and Council` of'the City Smyrna, held at seven -thirty o'clock P. M. on Monday, October 1, 1951, at the City Hall,,an ordinance was introduced by Councilman John Collier and seconded by Councilman Stanley McCalla, providing that Hickory Hill Drive in the City of Smyrna be paved. Copy of said proposed ordinance is hereto attached and made a part hereof. 2. That the street is Hickory Hill Drive in the that Hickory Hill Drive in t: 600 lineal feet from the nor Street to the end of Hickory Smyrna, be paved* proposed to be paved in said proposed ordinance City of Smyrna. Said proposed ordinance provides e City of Smyrna, being a distance of approximately hern intersection of Hickory Hill Drive and Hill Hill Drive, which is a dead end,in the City of 3. That said proposed ordinance provides that Hickory Hill Drive in said city, as above described, be paved in a uniform width of eighteen (18) feet of asphalt paving with clay bound base, with one -and -one-half to two inches of No. 2 rock penetrated with 0..75 gallons of asphalt per square yard and sealed with No, 1 stone and proper4 rolled throughout operations. 4. That the estimated cost per front foot for such contemplated improvements as above described, is $0.65 per front foot of property in the ' City of Smyrna, abutting on Hickory Hill Drive, on the east and west sides thereof. 5. That if such contemplated improvements as herein described are erected all persons owning property on Hickory Hill Drive in said City, shall be subject to a pro rata assessment of the cost of said improvements against their properties. 6. That all persons owning property fronting or abutting on said street in the City of Smyrna, and all other persons interested in any way in subject matter, are hereby notified and directed to appear at a meeting of the Mayor and Council of the City of Smyrna, to be held on the 5th day of November, 1951,E at seven -thirty o'clock P.
