07-08-1952 Continued Regular Meeting. 0 e .Continuation of regular meeting July 8, 1952 7:45 p.m. Mayor- Pro-tem C M. Hamby presiding with the following councilmen present, G. R. Yarbrough, Jr., C. C. Terrell and Eugene Rice. City Attorney Harold Willingham present and City Engineer M. J.*Hensley present. Upon motion of Councilman C. C. Terrell seconded by Councilman' Eugene`Rice the following ordinance was unanimously adopted: Whereas there was read to the meeting, a letter addressed to Mr. Marble J. Hensley from Vinson & Company, Inc., dated July 80 19522 signed by one, G. B. Vinson, president, alleging that such firm had rendered certain engineering services to the City of Smyrna claiming compensation therefore in an amount of $2,659,20, and Whereas neither the corporation Vinson & Company, Inc., nor its president, G. B. Vinson, nor any of its agents or employees have been authorized by the Council of the City of Smyrna to render any engineering services or do any other work for the City of Smyrna. Now therefore be it ordained in this meeting duly assembled: That,the corporation Vinson & Company, Inc., nor any of its officers, agents, or employees, has never been duly authorized to do any engineering or other work for'the City of Smyrna, and that any and all purported work or engineering so done is hereby rejected and repudiated, and the City denies any liability what- soever to pay for any of same claimed or alleged. That any representations'by such corporation, Vinsor & Company, Inc., or its officers or employees, to the Housing and Home Finance Agency, or other -persons or agencies that it represents the City of Smyrna in any capacity are unauthorized, null, and void, and of force and effect whatsoever. That the clerk furnish a copy of this ordinance to Vinson & Company, Inc., the Housing and Home Finance Agency of the Federal Government, and to all other persons, firms or agenetes that might be concerned. Motion by Eugene Rice seconded by Glenn Yarbrough to recess meeting until July 14, 1952 (Monday) 7:45 p.m. Voted unanimous. Meeting recessed until July 140 19520 7:45 p.m. /I .. MPJ i /.
