A special meeting of the Mayor and Council was held at the City
Hall June 27, 1952, 7:45 p.m. Mayor J. M. Gibson, presiding,
with the following Councilmen present,.C. M. Hamby, Glenn Yar-
brough, Jr., Eugene Rice, C. C. Terrell and Harry Mitchell.
Purpose of meeting to study financial condition.
R�-B:._Bennett stated he would advance to the City w12,000.00
if the City would -make sewerage available for homes on south
side of Concord Road. -
Motion by Co M. Hamby seconded by Eugene Rice to build septic
tank and put in lift station. if necessary to take care of
Bennett homes on south side of Concord Road. Voted unanimous.
Motion by C. C. Terrell seconded by Glenn Yarbrough to get man
to fix valve on pumping station. Voted unanimous.
Motion by Eugene Rice seconded by Glenn Yarbrough to transfer
$1500.00 from Waterworks & Sewerage Revenue to Construction fund.
Voted unanimous.
Motion by.Glenn Yarbrough tseconded by Harry Mitchell to authorize
City Attorney, Harold 17illingha.m to begin negotiating deal relative
to issuing $200,000.00 Waterworks & Sewerage Revenue Anticipation
Certificates. Voting for Glenn Yarbrough, Harry Mitchell and Eu-
gene Rice. Voting against C. C. Terrell. (Hamby not voting, left
for work)
