Motion by C. C,-Terrell seconde 4by Glenn Yarbrough to have one
hundred (100) copies of Smyrna code book printed, cost not to
exceed $ 150.009 sec. 111 code to be amended to permit 2" soil
line under concrete for sink in dwellings only. Voted unanimous.
7 Motion by Eugene Rice seconded by Glenn Yarbrough to employ Mrs.
Louise Logan to do clerical tax work after regular office hours,.
@ $1.50 per hr. Mr. Jones, churn, tax assessors to keep time and
payment to be made on completion of work. Voted unanimous.
Mr. Willingham reported briefly on status of Federal Aid Application.
Motion by Glenn Yarbrough seconded by Harry Mitchell to -recess
meeting until Monday night, May 19th, 8:00'p.m. Voted unanimous.

8:00 P.M.
Mayor Pro-tem C. M. Hamby presiding with the following Councilmen
present, Glenn Yarbrough, Eugene Rice, Harry Mitchell, Jr., and
C. C. Terrell.
Motion by Glenn Yarhrough seconded by C. C. Terrell authorizing
_\—C. M. Hamby and Eugene Rice to settle injunction with G. C. Fort-
ner as per terms outlined at council meeting which will appear in
contract. Voted unanimous.
Mrs. Clara Hulsey came before council in reference to an easement
she had signed with the City for "$'1.00 which she stated was a mis-
understanding on her part. This referred to Mr. Yarbrough for in-
vestigating.
Motion by Eugene Rice seconded by Glenn Yarbrough to leave parking
situation on Hunter Street up to police chairman, Harry Mitchell,
Voted unanimous.
Motion by Eugene Rice seconded by Harry Mitchell to instruct Eng-
ineer and Howard McCollum to keep close check on broken meter
boxes and meters and send bill to contractor for,any damages done.
Voted unanimous.

Motion by Eugene Rice seconded by Harry Mitchell to charge Fruit
Bowl license for grocery, drinks and cigarettes, total $35.00.

A special meeting of the Mayor and Council was held at the City
Hall, May 26, 1952,`7:45 p.m.
Mayor J. M. Gibson, presiding with the following Councilmen present;
C. M. Hamby, Co C. Terrell, Eugene Rice, Glenn Yarbrough and Harry
Mitchell."
Mr, R. B. Bennett came before Council stating the need for water
and sewerage to service a portion of Bennett project North Concord.
Mr. Bennett offered to pay $20,000.00 in advance if this would en-
able the City to furnish these services.
Engineer to make surveyas to cost of temporary plant for this area.
Motion by C. M. Hamby seconded by C. C. Terrell if practical from .
an engineer standpoint to place twenty-nine (29) houses Concord Road
to manhole on Concord Road,to lift pump. Voted unanimous.
Motion by C. M. Hamby that Mr. � �Reett be permitted to go ahead
with septic tanks subject to state health inspection, seconded by
Eugene Rice. Voted unanimous.
Motion by Glenn Yarbrough seconded by Eugene Rice to advertise and
post property to be zoned for business and set hearing for June 9,
1952p 7:45 p. m. at the City Hall. Property known as the B. L.
Walker property fronting app. 110t on North Atlanta Street and all
Walker property lying back. Voted unanimous.
Motion by Glenn Yarbrough seconded by Harry Mitchell to authorize
the Mayor to execute option between Stephen Hall and City of Smyrna,
copy to be spread upon minutes of this meeting. Voted unanimous.
