November 27, 1948.
A Special meeting was held on November 27, 1948 at 7;30 P. M.
for the purpose of passing and adopting a zoning law -on Sunset
Avenue.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Lorena P Pruitt with
the following councilmen present; M. L. Collins, H. L. McEntyre,
P. P. Shaw, H. D. Durham and H. P. McCollum.
Motion was made by H. D. Durham and seconded by H. P. McCollum
that the zoning law attached and made a part of the se minutes
be passed, Voted unanimous.
The firm of Charles P. Bagley & Company was given the conttact
to audit the books of the City of Smyrna for the year 1948.
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned.
Noiv'ember 15, 1948.
A Special meering was held by the Mayor and Council to pass the
assessment notices for the paving of the following dtreets;
Church Street, Flemming Street, Powder Springs Street, Walker
Street and Highland Avenue.
Mayor Lorena P. Pruitt called the meeting to order with the
following present; Councilmen P. P. Shaw, H. P. McCollum,
M. L. Collins and H. L. McEntyre and Attorney Harold Willingham.
Motion was made by P. P. Shaw, seconded by H. P. McCollum
thet the Tax Assessors be paid an additional $45.00 Each , or a
total of $75.00 each, Voted unanimous.
The following ordinancq,f or Church Street, was introduced by
Councilman P. P. Shaw and seconded by H. P. McCollum and voted
unanimous, (see ordinance attached.
The following ordinance , for Flemming Street was introduced
by H. P. McCollum and seconded by M. L. Collins and voted
unanimous. ( see ordinance attached)
The following ordinance, for Powder Springs Street was introduced
by M.L. C&Ilins, Councilman and seconded by Councilman H. L.
McEntyre and voted unanimous. ( See ordinance for Powder Springs
Street Attached)
The following ordinance, for Walker Street was introduced by
P. P. Shaw and seconded by Councilman H. L. McEntyre and voted•
unanimous.(See ordinance for Walker Street attached).
The following ordinance, for Highland Avenue was introduced by
Councilman H. L. McEntyre and seconded by Councilman H. P.
McCollum and voted unanimous. ( see ordinance for Highland
Avenue attached).
Motion was made by Councilman M. L. Collins and seconded by
H. L. McEntyre and voted unanimous that Attorneys prepare
proposed changes in the City Charter and advertise that these
changes will be YaNA introduced or that legislation will be
introduced that changes will be made in the Legislature.
