A Special meeting of the Mayor and Council was held at the City Hall
on July 2, 1948 at 7;00 P. M.
The meeting was called to order by the Mayor, Mrs. Lorena P. Pruitt
with the following members present; H. D; Durham, H. L. McEntyre,
H. P. McCollum, P. P. Shaw and M. L. Collins; '
Following the reading of the minutes, there was a motion by H.-D.
Durham, seconded by H. P. McCollum that they be approved as read,
Motion was unanimous.
Motion was made by H. D. Durham; seconded by H. L. McEnt�we'that
Ferguson Construction Company be given the contract to lay the
pipe in the Jonquil Sub -Division at the same price and contract
as the Wages Contract, Voted unanimous.
Motion was made by H. P. MCC-ollum, seconded by H; D. Durham that
Sunset Avenue be accepted, as completed but that it must be swept.

Motion was made by H..,D. Durham, seconded by M. L. Collins that
Hughes Street be accepted as completed, but that it must be swept.

Motion was made by H. D. Durham, seconded by H. P. McCollum
tha t the City pay Roy Howard bill for new clutch, ins#ailed
in G. M. C. City truck.. voted unanimous.
Motion was; made by H. P. McCollum, seconded by M. L. Collins that
Bob Lewis be allowed to make alterations on pool room on Atlanta
Street only if supervised and approved by H. D. Durham, voted unanimous.
Motion made by H. D. Durham, seconded by P. P. Shaw that the
following men be elected or appointed as tax assessors;
R. C. Bird, Ernest Jones and Calvin Johnson, voted unanimous,
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned by
