A special meeting of the Mayor and Council was held at the City
Hall April'17, 7:30 P. M. Mayor J. M. Gibson presiding. Council-
men P. P. Shaw, H. L. McEntyre, and C. W. Tones were present. Mr:,
Lex Jolley, of Johnson, Laney-,& Space Company was present.
Motion made by Ti. L. McEntyre and seconded b P. P. Shaw to accept co
contract with Johnson, Lane, p, Space Co., to issue �350,000.00 Revenue
Certificates and retire old bonds., for the purpose of extending and
improving water and sewerage system(contract attached to -these minutes).
Mr. A. M. Ai]{en presented plans for securing the location of the pro-
posed new Post Office building on the T7asonic Lodge property, located
on Spring St., and ask that the City Council give their support to this
project.
Motion made by P. P. Shaw and seconded by I7. L. McEntyre to send letter
of approval in regard to proposed P. 0. building being located on Mason-
ic lodge property. Voted unanimous (Letter to be sent to Mr. Schumate,
Post Office Inspector, Atlanta, Ga.)
Motion made by -L. L. McEntyre and seconded by C. 511. Jones to elect
?toward Dames as Councilman to fill the unexpired term of Schly Prinson,
who recentl-; resigned due to being; transferred. Voted unanimous.
Motion made by H. L. McEntyre and seconded by C. W. Jones to donate
l up to 675.00 toward the buildinC of grandstands at Brinkley Park.
-' Voted unanimous.
Motion made bu H. L. McEntyre and seconded by P. P. Shaw to put .No
Parking On Right Hand side of Hunter Street at Dunn Street. Voted
unanimous.
Motion made by C. 111, Jones and seconded by,P. P. Shaw to install
water fountain at ball park. Voted unanimous.
Motion made b;y P. P. Shaw and seconded by C. W. Jones to issue School
Boy Patrol check for $ 20.00 for services in operating; traffic light,
and their help in assisting childreft across the Highway and R. R. cross-
ing to and from school. Voted unanimous.. r
