A Special meeting of the Mayor and Council was held at the City
Hall on April 30 „ 1948 at 7;30 P. M.
The meeting was called to order by the Mayor, Mrs. Lorena P.
Pruitt, with all members of the council present; P. P. Shaw,
M/ L. Collins, Henry Konigsmark Jr., H. D. Durham and H. P.
McCollum, Mr. Willingham, City Attorney was also present.
Motion was made by H..D. Durham and seconded by Henry Konigsmark
Jr. that the City.buy.Night Policeman McCollum a new police Cap.
Motion passed x aaunf=xx unanimous.
After reading of the minutes of the last meeting motion was made
by H. P. McCollum.and seconded by P. P. Shaw that they be approv
ed as read. Passed xxm3n±nxxx unanimous.
Motion made by Henry Konigsmark Jr. and seconded by Homer D. Dur
ham that the City pay the bill of Keown's Garage for a new
starter installed on the Ehevrolet Truck. passed unanimous.
Motion made by H..P. McCollum and seconded by-P. P. Shaw that
the lot owned by the City on Elizabeth Street be sold to
Gertie Mae Conn for $150.00, the highest bid receivdd
passed unanimous.
'Motion made by Henry Konigsmark Jr. and seconded by H. D.
'Durham that the Jonquil Sub -Division project be carried.out
'if the cost is reasonable and meets with the Mayors approval.
'voting for Henry Konigsmark Jr,, H. P. McCollum and H. D.
'Durham, against P: P. Shaw and M. L. Collins.
Motion was made bVI H. D. Durham and seconded by P. P. Shaw
that the City of Smyrna pay Greene and 08Donnell the balance
due them for the sewerage contract, carried unanimous.
'Motion made by H.'D. Durham and seconded by H. P. McCollum
that the City pay'Three hundred (300.00) for legal services
'in connection with waterworks and sewerage construction work
from January 1, 1948 to completion of work, this to include
'additional legal cervices in connection with Jonquil Sub -
Division, passed unanimous.
Clerk was instructed to send out notices to all real estate.
'men and firms doing business in the City of Smyrna to report
all sales I in the City, of real estate to the clerk at time
of sale, under penalty of fine, as per City ordinance,. of
,not over $50.00 in each case.
