The first meeting of the Downtown Smyrna Development Authority was held
April 11, 1989. DSDA members appointed at the April 3, 1989 City Council
meeting are as follows: Mayor A. Max Bacon, Hubert Black, Jimmy Wilson,
C. J. Fouts, Pete Wood, Dr. Jim Pitts, Alton Curtis and Willouise Spivey.
The meeting began at 7:00 p.m. with all members present except Alton
Curtis and Willouise Spivey. Officers were elected as follows: Mayor A.
Max Bacon as Chairman; Jim Pitts as Vice -Chairman and Willouise Spivey as
Secretary. Members present were sworn in. Charles E. Camp was appointed
Attorney for the Downtown Smyrna Development Authority.
Discussion regarding the by-laws of the DSDA was the topic of business.
After a general discussion, Ben Watkins of Sutherland, Asbill and Brennan
is to make minor modifications to the Proposed By -Laws and forward them to
the DSDA for their approval.
The DSDA decided to attend the Town Hall meeting to be held on April 20,
1989.
With no further business, meeting adjourned.
