09-14-1981 Regular MeetingSEPTEMBER 14, 1981 The regular meeting of the Planning and Zoning Board was held on September 14th, and called to order by Chairman Allen Potter. Those in attendance were W. C. McCoy, Bill Wood, Jack Strickland, George Griffin and M. E. Jernigan. Also in attendance were Paula Cannon, Secretary and Dan Steely, Building Inspector. The first order of business was a request by Mrs. Mildred Scott to rezone property located between Wynridge and Cedar Cliffs Subdivision from R-20 residential to RD (Residential Duplex) for the purpose of constructing no more than two (2) duplexes. Each duplex will sell for approximately $100,000.00, with the owner occupying one side of one of the units. Mrs. Scott stated she had sold off the back portion of the tract of land in question to the homeowners in Cedar Cliffs and on Wynridge to the homeowners whose lots back up to the property. Mrs. Scott stated she had to build on the front portion (approximately 2.3 acres) of the property because of the poor terane to the rear.) Motion was made by W. C. McCoy and seconded by Bill Wood to rezone the property from R-20 to RD for the construction of no more than two (2) duplexes. Vote on the motion was.;.unanimous. The second order of business was a request by the Georgia Lung Association to rezone the property at the corner of Woodruff Drive and Spring from N.S. (Neighborhood Shopping) to O.I. (Office Institutional) for the purpose of constructing offices for the above association. The owners of Parcel #1 is J. Carman and Alice Wright, with Parcel #2 being owned by C. E. Flowers. Mr. Wilder, who was addressing the Board on behalf of his clients, stated that they wished to have the entire tract of land rezoned while only planning to build on a portion of the property. The association plans, at a later date, to sell the remaining property. W. C.McCoy made a motion that the property be rezoned from Neighborhood Shopping to Office Institutional. The motion was seconded by Jack Strickland with the vote being unanimous. With no further business the meeting adjourned at 6:20 p.m.
