03-26-1979 Regular MeetingMARCH 26, 1979 The City of Smyrna Planning Commission held their regularly scheduled meeting at City Hall on March 26, 1979 and was called to order at 6:00 o'clock P.M. by Chairman Allen Potter. Also present was M. E. Jernigan, George Griffin, Jack Strickland, Tom Corso, Bill Wood, W. C. McCoy and Anita Mullins. The first order of business was a call for questions or changes in the March 5, munutes. There were not questions or changes therefore, the minutes were approved as typed. There were two members from the current Grandjury Zoning Committee present to see how our meetings were conducted and ask questions. Mr Corso is also on this committee and stated that they are studying the East-West Connector, Spot Zoning, and Annexation. It was suggested that all zoning boards brom the county and all cities in the county get together once or twice a year to gain information on various problems. It was the opinion of all members that this would be a good idea. The Commission read a letter that had been sent to the Mayor and then refered to the Commission for their opinion. This was for Li'1 General Stores, the property in question was at the intersection of North Cooper Lake Rd. & Concord Road. After some discussion it was the general consensus of the Commission that this type convenience store would be a fair use for the property, but in order to sell gasoline the property would need to be zoned G. C. instead of N. S. There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 6:35 P.M. Chairman - Allen Potter All that tract or parcel of land lying and being in Land Lots 601 and 602 of the 17th District, 2nd Section of Cobb County, Georgia, all as more particularly described in Plat of survey prepared by Trenholm Baker, R. L. S. , dated September 22, 1978, for Louis S. Belinfante, et al, recorded in Plat Book 72, Page 28 Cobb County, Georgia Records; less and except. All that tract or parcel of land lying and being in Land Lots 601 and 602, of the 17th District, 2nd Section of Cobb County, Georgia, being .70 acres, more particularly described in Plat of survey prepared by Trenholm Baker, P.A., dated November 29, 1978, for Seymour 0. Solodar and Patricia 0. Solidar, recorded in Deed Book 1960, Page 382, Cobb County Records, and being a part of the property recorded in Plat Book 78, Page 28, Cobb County Records, to which plats reference is made for a more complete description. Mr. Littman was present to present his plan for Development. This plan is for an office complex which is consist of several different units. After some discussion Tom Corso made a motion to recommend the rezoning be approved as requested, subject to proper annexation. Charlie McCoy seconded the motion and vote for the motion was unanimous. There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 7:45 P.M.. -� . au,, - Allen Potter - Chairman
