Section 13. Leave of Absence Without Pay.
Jerry Mills made a motion the handbook be amended to include the police Department
in the above mentioned sections. Rem Bennett seconded the motion and the vote was
unanimous. The for this amendment is to be made a part of these minutes.
An amendment was to this motion to make the effective date as of 12:01 A.M..
January 11. 1977.
Homer Kuhl asked Attorney Camp if he thought we should accept the Code of Ordinance.
as prepared by the Municipal. Code. Inc. Mr. Camp said he had checked over the proofs
before returning them to the company and several small changes had been made.
Homer Kuhl made a motion that we order the minimum order of fifty (50) copies.
Jerry Mills seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous.
C. O. Canada asked the status of the City Manager study by the University of Georgia.
Mayor Bacon advised that he would call them tomorrow.
C. O. Canada asked when a vehicle could be acquired for the City Inspector. Homer
Kuhl said he would like for him to use one of the old police cars for the present.
since funds were not available to buy a new car. Mr. Canada stated he should have
a truck in order to pick up signs, etc. Mayor Bacon said he thought he should have
a new truck but could use a surplused police car until we could get one.
Rem Bennett said we had had a bad storm water drainage problem at 541 Benmac Road
for a number of years and he made a motion this problem be corrected for an estimated
cost of $753.40. Elbert Coalson seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous.
This cost to be paid from State Grants Funds. The owner of property at 541 Benmac
Road was 1n the audience and asked to see what was to be done. Rem Bennett said
he the owner had already seen the plans. C. o. Canada made a motion this
request tabled until the next meeting. in order that the owner have time to go
over the plans with Jim David. Elbert Coalson seconded the motion and the vote was
unanimous.
Rem Bennett made a motion that "No Parking Overnight" signs be put up in the Church
Street Park parking lot. Jerry Mills seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous.
A meeting of Mayor and Council was called for Tuesday afternoon at 5:30 P.M.
Mr. W. B. Mauldin of 1221 Kingsview Drive asked the status of the

not think it had been handled correctly. Mayor Bacon advised that a public hearing
would be held January 27th. and at that time he hoped all the questions could be
answered. Mayor Bacon is to call Mr. Mauldin when they can meet with Kidd &
Associates.
Jack Shinall said they still had a sewerage problem in Hickory Acres.
