All council members were present. Also present were City Administrator Fric Taylor,
City Clerk Susan Hiott, Deputy City Clerk Samantha Kasraie, City Attorney Scott
Cochran and representatives of the press.
The regular scheduled meeting of Mayor and. Council was held at Smyrna City Hall. "the
meeting was called to order by presiding officer Mayor Max Bacon at 7:33 o'clock p.m.
Mayor Bacon recognized Pastor Robin Hancox of International Gospel Outreach Church
who conducted the invocation and pledge to the flag.
AGENDA CHANGES:
Mayor Bacon stated there were no agenda changes.
MAYOR'S REPOR"I'.
Mayor Bacon stated that there was none.
LAND ISSUES/ZONINGS/ANNEXATIONS:
Mayor Bacon stated that there were none.
PRIVILEGE LICENSES-
Mayor Bacon stated that there were none.
FORMAL BUSINESS:
Mayor Bacon stated that there was none.
COMMERCIAL BUILDING PERMITS:
Mayor Bacon stated that there were none.
CONSENT AGENDA:
Mayor Bacon read the consent agenda.

MOTION: Council Member Lnenicka moved to approve the consent agenda. Motion was
seconded by G'ouncil Member Wood and approved 7-O.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:
G'ouncil Member Pritchett wished all present a happy new year and yielded the floor with
no report.
Council Member Newcomb commented on the passing of several Smyrna residents,
expressing his condolences to the families of Pat Steinheiser, Ron Castleberry and Lou
O' Shield.
Council Member Anulewicz yielded the floor with no report.
Council Member McNabb yielded the floor with no report.
Council Member Smith wished all a prosperous and healthy 201 1 and yielded the floor
with no report.
Council Member Lnenicka wished all Smyrna residents a safe, healthy and prosperous
new year and informed all present of the passing of Ward 6 resident Watson Petty of
King Springs Rd., commenting on his involvement in the community and outstanding
character. F-Ie also mentioned the funeral of Mrs_ Bob Ash, who resided for several
decades in the Smyrna area. Council Member Lnenicka announced the appointment of
Jason Fincher to the position of state court judge and the swearing in of District 3
Commissioner _loAnn Birrell, who had worked closely with the City for many years_
Council Member Wood extended his condolences on the passing of Mr. Watson Petty,
emphasizing his accomplishments and positive contributions to the City and his
dedication and service to his country. He also expressed his sorrow at the passing of Mrs.
Bob Ash and the loss it represented for Smyrna.
No further reports were given.
SI--IOW CAUSE HEARINGS:
Mayor Bacon stated that there were none.
CITIZEN INPUT:
Mayor Bacon recognized Mr. Mike Hourihan, residing at 2866 Green Cove Way the past
six weeks, who discussed the condition of the sight barrier at the intersection of South
Atlanta and Spring. He stated that it was in a state of disrepair, unsightly and certainly not
the impression that the City would want to have at a location considered to be a
cornerstone of Smyrna_ Mr. Hourihan also commented that the street light at the corner of
Davis and Stephens was out.
Mayor Bacon recognized Ms. Donna Woodham, residing at 261 6 Hughes Street, who
expressed concerns about clear cutting at the Glock development site, resident relocation

during the winter holiday season as a result of the purchase of the Hickory Lakes
apartment complex and the lack of chipper services made available by the City for
Christmas tree disposal_ She urged all present to vote out the current Mayor and Council.
Mayor Bacon welcomed Mr. Hourihan to Smyrna, commenting that the property he
referenced was currently in foreclosure and that the City is encouraged about the
possibility of a new owner with which conditions could be addressed and improved.
Mayor Bacon also stated that he would make sure the street light was repaired.
Council Member Smith informed all present that chippers were available at Home Depot
the weekend of the 8`~'.
Council Member Anulewicz_ stated that Keep Smyrna Beautiful has offered Christmas
tree recycling and disposal services for the past 12 years.
Mayor Bacon also recognized the efforts of Keep Smyrna Beautiful's annual tree
recycling program over the past 12 years and encouraged all present to participate.
